Dishtowels and Dishcloths

Here is my second little girl doing laundry embroidered on a flour sack dish towel.

I've started a set of dishcloths, too. This design came from Mason-Dixon Knitting by Kay Gardiner and Ann Shayne. I used 100% cotton Peaches and Cream. Colors are Seaspray and Cream.

I grew up with mom always having a linen calender dish towel. I wish I had a few of those from the 60's and 70's. I decided to see if they still existed. I found lots of them online, but only a couple of designs that were 50% cotton and 50% linen. The rest were made from a synthetic fabric. I think I will pick that tradition back up.
